Why don’t you use lacquer on cabinets?

We prefer to not use lacquer as it has to be sprayed, meaning some spraying has to be done in your home. Lacquer has a very strong odour that some people and pets can be sensitive too. Whenever possible we choose the least invasive method to complete a refinishing job without sacrificing quality. Both the Benjamin Moore Advance paints we use and lacquer are durable products. However, all paint is susceptible to chipping and lacquer can’t be touched up should it chip.
